Proprioception training is a type of exercise therapy that helps improve your body's ability to sense its awareness of where your body parts are in space—without needing to look at them. It’s what allows you to walk without watching your feet, touch your nose with your eyes closed, or maintain balance on uneven ground.

Proprioception is essential for:

Balance and coordination
Injury prevention and recovery (especially joint injuries)
Postural control
Joint stability (especially important in conditions like hypermobile Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, or hEDS)

When proprioception is impaired—due to injury, surgery, aging, or neurological or connective tissue conditions—it can result in clumsiness, frequent falls, poor coordination, or re-injury.
